P-Static Testing
CE Avionics technicians have been factory trained and can now perform P-Static tests on your aircraft, at your facility, and on your timetable.
When should you have your aircraft tested?
- During a prebuy inspection
- After the aircraft is painted
- After a lightning strike
- If you have static noise or lose reception in clouds or precipitation on the comms or HF
- If you have erratic VOR or ILS needles
The P-Static test electrically charges the aircraft, simulating the charging phenomena that are encountered in flight during precipitation static conditions. With this procedure we can pin-point the source of radio frequency interference (RFI) that results from corona and streaming currents on insulated materials, and sparking between unbonded metal.
