CE Avionics Inc. is interested in hiring Mobile Field Service Technicians for Florida East and West coast territories. The Mobile Field Service Technician is responsible for supporting current customer avionics needs as well as developing new business. The service area will encompass a 120-mile radius of the airport closest to the technician’s Florida residence.
Scheduling and support are coordinated with CE Avionics, Inc. base of all operations located at Sanford, FL (KSFB). The Mobile Field Service Technician troubleshoots avionics systems that are malfunctioning in customer aircraft and installs avionics systems and components. Communicates with supervisors and customers as required regarding the status and timeframe of repairs and job completion. The Mobile Field Service Technician has the experience to exercise sound judgement and technical aptitude to make decisions regarding installation, troubleshooting, and discrepancy resolution. As customer interface is anticipated, professional appearance and communication skills are required.
Key Requirements, Abilities and Responsibilities:
- Will have a minimum of 3 years avionics and/or aviation electronics experience that includes basic electronics education/training.
- Must meet the requirements to obtain an FAA Repairman Certificate and will be required to perform safety sensitive tasks under the guidelines of CE Avionics, Inc. Repair Station/Quality Control Manual and FAA Approved Anti-Drug and Anti-Alcohol Abuse Program.
- Maintain a Florida driver’s license and driving record that is satisfactory to company’s automobile insurer.
- Must be able to pass background checks and meet badging requirements at multiple airports.
- Have the knowledge, ability and experience to troubleshoot/install ADF, ADS-B, Air Data, Audio, Autopilot/Flight Director, Communications, DME, EGPWS, Flight Management, Navigation, Radar, Radio Altimeter, Satcom, TAWS, TCAS, Transponder, Cabin Management/In-flight Entertainment and other sophisticated avionics/electronics systems.
- Proficient at reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, system schematics, and utilizing aircraft manuals and manufacturer technical support.
- Familiar with Pitot/Static, Transponder and Skin Mapping test equipment for FAR 91.411, FAR 91.413 and RVSM recertifications.
- Proficient at the operation and use of Test Equipment, Soldering Equipment and Hand Tools required for the troubleshooting, repair, certification, and installation of aircraft avionics and electrical systems.
- Ability to instruct or assist less experienced technicians in avionics/electrical related testing, troubleshooting and repair.
- Must be able to document all work accomplished in a clear, concise and accurate manner for the purpose of record keeping requirements and billing.
- Willing to work overtime, travel and overnight stay at customer locations as required.
- Responsible for knowing, understanding, following, and promoting company policies and procedures.

The Avionics Installation Lead Technician is responsible for directing and assisting avionics technicians to accomplish assigned functions and coordinating with the Director of Installation Operations on work assignments, work progress, Inspector requirements, delays, personnel requirements, and job assignment turnovers. Will need to be eligible for an FAA Repairman’s certificate. This position reports to the Director of Installation Operations.
Key Abilities and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the safe and efficient performance of all assigned duties and personnel
- Direct and assist avionics Installation technicians to accomplish all functions for which they are assigned
- Perform duties in accordance with Company policies, Repair Station Manual, and applicable FAA regulations
- Coordinate with the Director of Installation Operations and Return to Service Coordinator on work assignments, work progress, Inspector requirements, delays, personnel requirements and job assignment turnovers.
- Provide on the job technical training on avionics installation practices, shop practices, Company policies, safety procedures, and general information
- Ensure personnel are only assigned duties for which they are specifically qualified
- Taking appropriate action to upgrade personnel technical skills and qualifications
- Maintain work areas, shop areas, and materials used in assigned work in a safe, clean and operative condition
- Sign for their own work on installation documents and flight logs, and co-sign for work of other personnel in their section
- Approve avionics and related electronic systems and components for return to service
- Key abilities for success: organized, take initiative, effective communication, teamwork, adapt to constant changing and multiple work assignments and fast paced environment.
- Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet customer schedules.

Established over 35 years ago, CE Avionics has developed a large, varied and loyal customer base servicing clients at our main facility and throughout Florida via remote service vans. We provide avionics support, flightline repair, installation and full bench repair on corporate and general aviation aircraft. We also provide support to various FBO, maintenance facilities, flight schools, government and corporate operators.
CE Avionics Inc. is always interested in talking with experienced Bench, Avionics Flightline, and installation technicians. Candidates for employment must have a strong knowledge of aircraft electrical / avionics systems on a wide variety of corporate aircraft; must be self-motivated, safety conscious, and detail oriented; should be proficient in troubleshooting aircraft electrical / avionics systems, reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, system schematics, and at utilizing aircraft manuals; should be familiar with R.V.S.M., FAR 91.411, and FAR 91.413 certifications. Strong customer relation skills are essential to the job.
Adequate tools to perform duties are necessary. Candidate may be required to travel up to 150 miles from main facility with occasional overnight stays. F.C.C. and/or A&P licenses preferred but not required. Candidate must meet the requirements to obtain an FAA Repairman Certificate and will be required to perform safety sensitive tasks under the guidelines of CE Avionics, Inc. FAA Approved Anti-Drug and Anti-Alcohol Abuse Program.
